My name is Susan Farr-Kite, and I am a parent trying to collect child support from my ex-husband via the San Diego Child Support System. I have been trying unsuccessfully to make this system make my son's father pay his child support payments.
My son is now 25 years of age and I am suppose to be receiving $250.00 per month in back child support payments. At present I'm lucky if I receive $20.00 per week. As of this month my ex-husband owes me over $27,000 in arrears payments.
I have been chasing my son's father since 1991, over 17 years to make him accountable for his child support payments. We have been to court over 44 times in attempts to collect what is due me. There is not one excuse he hasn't used to get out of these payments.
What I would like to do is to get feedback from other parents that are in the same situation that I am in. I'm sure there are many of us out there. Please share in detail what trying to collect your child support has been like for you.
